Polar Bottle Donates $31,000!

Polar Bottle raises $31,000 for THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser through sales of water bottle

Sipping pink lemonade from water bottles emblazoned with a hot pink tie- dyed breast cancer ribbon, employees of Boulder, Colorado based Polar Bottle, today celebrated the biggest single charitable donation in the company’s history.  Polar Bottle President Judy Amabile cheerfully handed over a giant check for $31,000 to Deanna Blanchet, Development Director of THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser.

“Giving back to our customers and community has always been a major part of our mission. Our research showed that health related charities – and specifically Breast Cancer support and research  - were very important to our customers. With this bottle we wanted to raise money for a smaller charity that provided practical support for Breast Cancer sufferers and to create a visual symbol of solidarity that our customers would want to carry with them year round," Amabile said.

Nilo G., founder of THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser responded, “We are elated with the news of such a generous contribution to THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser. The support will make a vast difference as we launch the WeCare program. Newly diagnosed breast cancer patients will be comforted to know that “we care” about them. We hope that other companies are inspired by the company's socially conscious decision to support THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser”.

THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser partners with local hospitals nationwide (including Denver’s UCH Center for Integrative Medicine) to create and grow patient support services such as nutritional counseling, fitness classes, massage therapy and acupuncture. It also provides WeCare packages to patients in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas. Inspired by Denver breast cancer survivor Erin Monroe, these $300 care packages include items that support emotional, spiritual and physical well being such as informative reading materials, socks, yoga mats – and now a Polar Bottle water bottle.
