It’s hard to believe 15 years have passed since 30 friends gathered in the backyard of my parent’s home in Orange County, CA. On that first night in 2003, the intention was purely to host a simple cocktail party where friends could have a good time while giving back to an important cause; I could not have dreamed up the tremendous support and participation that we have today. The level of generosity amongst young men and women ranging in age from 21-45 has been outstanding.

In 2011 we became recognized as a 501c3 nonprofit public charity.  What was once a backyard gathering was never intended to become a nationwide non-profit foundation, but this organization is a true “grass-roots” movement led by ambassadors all over the U.S. In 2016, stewarded by advisory board member and breast cancer survivor Erin Monroe, THE BCF launched the WeCare Program, showing breast cancer patients that "we" as a community "care" about them.  The WeCare Program includes WeBuild Days where volunteers build bags for patients and help us prepare for WeGive Days, where we then hand those bags out.  Click here to read more about the next wave of philanthropy at THE BCF.

Thank you to every individual who believes in what we are doing and supports us in the many ways that you do.

It's an honor to serve breast cancer patients nationwide, while inspiring young professionals to give to a cause greater than themselves.

With extensive background in the healthcare industry, I love being able to provide support and knowledge to an organization like THE BCF.

Erin Monroe

Our hope is that newly diagnosed patients will have resources and that we will alleviate some of that pain, fear, confusion so that their strength can shine thru this all. The journey is certainly a tough one but THE BCF will be right there!
